With nothing to do all week, I took the girls to the newly opened Children's Museum down town that just open this past summer. We avoided the big crowds by getting there early and had some elbow room to check out all the exhibits (and for Chloe to take off and run away!) The museum had a ton of neat displays - all hand's on for the little ones, and I think the perfect age is probably from 4 to about 10. Claire LOVED it and was able to participate in almost everything! Chloe... well.... not so much. But there were areas she liked as well. Their favorite part was the grocery store where they could "shop" with miniature (and very realistic) shopping carts down aisles and aisles of real groceries - then take their items to the check-out where they could scan them and see the price and description pop up on a cash register screen. Chloe had a major meltdown when it was time to move on to some other areas, but I wrangled her back under control and took her to see some other fun.
It was a fun activity - indoors was needed because it was very cold and windy outside (at least for us in South Carolina!)
